3 main types of allergy

You are ready for your holiday. But be careful: don’t forget your medical kit. A small accident can turn your pleasure in terror.

3 main types of allergy

In addition to the unpredictable situations that can arise, there are cases when people had allergic reactions to sunlight, water, or stress. So don’t forget to take an anti-allergy treatment while travelling.

Here are 3 main types of allergy:

Sun allergy
Among one of the most common types of allergy is sun allergy. There are people whose skin reacts at high temperatures through irritation, blisters, and rashes. The number of people affected by photosensitivity increases. The sun’s rays become allergens in contact with external factors (the flower pollen, cosmetics or medical preparations, essential oils), or with internal factors (disorders of the immune system, the consequences of administration of drugs).

The combination between ultraviolet and some components of medicines can cause strong reactions like feelings of burning or itching, followed by hives or swelling of the mucous membranes and skin. More recently, those who go to solarium are suffering in the winter from symptoms similar to this type of allergy.

Allergy to water
We all know that water means life. But it can also cause allergy to people who live in warm climates regions, where the temperature drops suddenly. The symptoms of allergy occur in those who have dehydrated skin, when they come into contact with large amounts of cold water (jumping in the sea, for example), but sometimes also with hot water from the shower.

In simple cases, red spots appear on the skin with a strong feeling of itching; in serious cases, even small burning areas. Scientists still can’t give a clear answer about what caused this type of allergy.

Emotional allergy
The latest research in the field of immunology discovers more psychosomatic signs of allergy. There are specific emotional states that cause the immune system response in the form of allergic reaction. If certain situations are repeated more often, a conditioned reflex is formed. Reactions can be stimulated by sights, sounds, scents, tastes, high or low temperature.

For example, a patient has allergy to roses` pollen, but she reacts badly, showing all the symptoms of the disease, when she sees artificial roses. Researchers have found several situations that can cause emotional allergy: the death of relatives or pets, change of the job, surgery, or situations which are, objectively or subjectively, a danger to life.
